About Cecil
20 Years of expereince with grant writing, data and sample stewardship
Cecil is the primary consultant at EthosQuill. He is a long-time NIH/NSF-funded investigator and program builder. Over the last 20 years, he has served as PI on federally funded awards ranging from an NSF CAREER and NIH R01s to an NIH RM1 Center of Excellence in Ethics and an NIH R25 training program. He has served on multiple review panels and briefly worked inside NIH as a Scientific Review Officer. He founded and directed a multi-PI, interdisciplinary research laboratory, led university core laboratory services, and advised on research ethics and data/sample stewardship. Now, he brings that experience to work for you.
Today, Cecil helps investigators develop clearer, tighter, more review-ready proposals; they can focus on the science while he strengthens structure, alignment, and presentation. He may also be available to consult on data/sample sovereignty and stewardship, and to join teams working in genomics, microbiome research, or ELSI efforts.
